Kids Rock returns to the Old Griffith Park Zoo Saturday, June 12, 2010 from 2 to 7 p.m. Kids Rock is an annual concert and festival benefitting the Children’s Nature Institute. The Children’s Nature Institute is a non-profit organization that provides thousands of underserved and special needs children with experiences in nature.
Kids Rock features live entertainment, exciting and wondrous activities, fun and creative crafts, and healthy cuisine!
Rhythm Child brings soulful, uplifting, and interactive music for all.
Roots rocker Randy Kaplan does amazing James Taylor-meets-banjo covers of Nirvana and Grandmaster Flash.
Community favorite Lovemusiic brings drums and fun acoustic sounds. Creative Seeds delights audiences with dance and colorful costumes.
The dazzling and colorful Wonder Mobile and the Cabrillo Marine Aquarium will be on hand with animals that visitors of all ages can touch and hold.
Cool activities such as mural and sculpture-making, face painting, and the dino dig keep kids “edutained” all day long.
This year’s Kids Rock has been expanded to provide more art experiences than ever before, including the “Birds of a Feather” art show and raffle hosted by Monkeyhouse Toys. More than 30 unique artists have donated their work to keep the Children’s Nature Institute thriving. Local artist Dan Goodsell, creator of Mr. Toast and Friends, will be making a special appearance.
Healthy and delicious fare may be purchased from the Green Truck and the Slice Truck.
Bring the whole family to enjoy an early evening of music, nature, and fun in Los Angeles' most famous park!
